Dr Sarah Areo is a technocrat, and a director of planning, research and statistics in Area Council Secretariate of the Federal Capital Territory. She will be actively focusing on The Commission for the Status of Women (CSW) which is the principal global policymaking body dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. The Commission meets annually for a period of 10 working days (late February - early March) in New York to evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and empowerment of women worldwide.

Dr Sarah is a gender activist who also served in Social Development Secretariat of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. She has travelled widely, attending conferences on Women and Children particularly the United Nation in New York. She is involved in supporting the needy, providing scholarships to children of the poor background, supporting Women for medical purposes (Primary Health Care.). She also supports missionaries and their families by giving food, clothing and School fees. She has wealth of experience which will provide growth and support for the commission. She is an alumna of Ahmadu Bello University where she obtained bachelor’s degrees in political science and Nasarawa State University where she studied public policy analysis.
